Hidden Interiors While the extent of the AIDS epidemic was unknown at the time, I did have the sense that the existance of sex clubs like the "Plato Retreat" were unique and would be gone soon. Much of the "Hidden Interiors" work documents the environments of the underground sex scene prevalent in New York at the time.
